CRUEX++ project

Within the framework of the CRUEX++ project, both a methodology and a computational tool for estimation of extreme floods have been developed for dam safety purpose. The developed methodology allows to estimate the hydrograph of the safety flood based on the PMP-PMF approach (probable maximum precipitation-probable maximum flood). The obtained peak discharge is compared to the results of statistical extrapolation.

CRUEX++ is the most recent project of a series of research projects at EPFL LCH in the field of flood safety. The project has been funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) and has been carried out in collaboration with CREALP (Centre de recherche pour l’environnement alpin), Hertig & Lador SA and Hydrique Ingénieurs.
